About the place
The "Outstanding Bolafjall" platform, opened in 2022, cantilevers over the edge on 60 tonnes of steel, with nothing below but the waters of Ísafjarðardjúp. The view reaches the Hornstrandir peninsula and the open Greenland Sea, and on the clearest days Greenland shows on the horizon. Bolungarvík sits about ten minutes from Ísafjörður through a road tunnel.
