Neskaupstaður Nature Reserve

About the place
Fólkvangur is a small coastal reserve at the eastern edge of Neskaupstaður, where the road out of one of Iceland's most remote fjord towns finally ends. Protected in 1972, it was the first nature reserve of its kind in the country. Level, well-kept paths pass sea cliffs, wildflowers and varied geology, with wide views over Norðfjörður, and the marked trail reaches the Páskahellir sea cave.
