Galtahryggjarlaug Geothermal Pool
About the place
A natural, stone-lined bath at the head of Mjóifjörður, on land belonging to the Heydalur farm and guesthouse. The water sits at around 38–40°C. Legend has it that the spring is one of those blessed by Bishop Guðmundur the Good in the 12th century. From the farm car park it is a five-minute walk and a wade across the river; non-guests pay a small fee at reception.
