Krosslaug is a small natural hot spring located in Birkyfjord Bay, Westfjords. The pool is surrounded by untouched wilderness, almost at sea level. The surrounding landscape is quiet and stark: you immerse yourself in warm water, gazing at the calm fjord and majestic mountains. This is a true alien-like landscape, where the jagged coastline seems untouched by humans for centuries. Nearby is a larger concrete pool, Birkyfjardarlaub, but this small stone bowl provides the most authentic experience. Birds nest in the coastal grasses, and the silence is broken only by gulls and the whisper of the tide.
