Hellulaug Hot Spring

Hellulaug is a natural hot spring carved into rock, located in Vatnsfjordur Bay, Westfjords. The pool is filled with crystal-clear geothermal water. The surrounding landscape is quiet and stark, with the ocean right in front of you. This is a perfect alien-like landscape, where rough basalt meets the softness of sea foam. There are no changing facilities or other amenities, only nature in its pristine form. Seabirds nest in the rocks around the pool, and during low tide seals sometimes rest on the exposed rocks.
