Reykjafjardarlaug Hot Pool

About the place

Reykjafjarðarlaug is a free geothermal pool on the south shore of Arnarfjörður, in the southern Westfjords. Volunteers built the concrete pool in 1975, and it survives on donations dropped in a box by the changing hut. A hotter natural spring seeps from the rocks on the slope just above, so you can pick your temperature — a mild soak or a hot rock pool — with the quiet fjord in front of you. It stays open all year.
