Keilir

Keilir is a 378-metre volcanic cone standing alone on the lava plain of the Reykjanes Peninsula, about 25 km southwest of Reykjavík. Its symmetry comes from ice: it erupted beneath an Ice Age glacier, and the meltwater shaped the near-perfect cone. On clear days it is visible from the capital and much of southwest Iceland. The summit, reached after a rough gravel drive and a steep climb, opens onto the whole peninsula.
