Krossanesfjall Mountain

Krossanesfjall rises where Iceland's South Coast bends into the East Fjords — a wall of dark, jagged peaks straight out of the Atlantic. Almost everyone calls it Eystrahorn, the "eastern horn", twin to the more famous Vestrahorn across the bay. Its gabbro and scree run deep black and coppery brown, and at low tide the ridge mirrors in wet black sand below the Hvalnes lighthouse. It stays far quieter than its western twin: free, photogenic and often nearly empty but for seabirds and surf.
