Hoffellsfjoll Viewpoint
About the place
Hoffellsfjöll is a glacier viewpoint near Höfn, in southeast Iceland. It overlooks Hoffellsjökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap, where a small lagoon fills with icebergs. It is one of the region's quietest glacier stops. A paved lane runs off the Ring Road to the Hoffell guesthouse and its geothermal baths; from there a rough gravel road climbs to a car park, and a short steep walk reaches the viewpoint.
