Vestrahorn Panorama

Vestrahorn Panorama is a roadside viewpoint on the Ring Road (Route 1) east of the fishing town of Höfn, in southeast Iceland. Across the water rise the scree-covered peaks of the Vestrahorn massif — the same mountain photographers chase at nearby Stokksnes. This is the quick, free version: stop, stretch and take in the coast without paying to enter the private Stokksnes headland. On a clear autumn or winter night it makes a dark, open spot for the northern lights.
