Fjadlsjokudl Viewpoint
About the place
This roadside viewpoint sits almost at the snout of Fjallsjökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, with the volcano Öræfajökull white behind it. A short path from the car park reaches a shore where blue icebergs wash up much like at Diamond Beach — yet a few kilometres west of Jökulsárlón, hardly anyone stops. It is the closest, quietest glacier view on this stretch of the south coast, and pairs well with the Fjallsárlón lagoon next door.
