Svinafellsjokull Glacier

Svínafellsjökull is one of Iceland's most accessible glacier tongues — an outlet of the Öræfajökull ice cap that spills down in blue-white pinnacles streaked with dark volcanic ash at the edge of Skaftafell. A short, near-level walk from a free car park reaches its snout and a small meltwater lagoon, close enough to feel the cold coming off the ice. Its broken, otherworldly surface appeared in films including Interstellar and Batman Begins.
