The waterfall is formed by meltwater descending from the surrounding slopes. Water drops in a short but energetic cascade between dark rock walls. The confined channel emphasizes the speed and movement of the flow. Hundafoss is reached via the same trail system leading to Svartifoss. It offers a quieter stop along a well-known hiking route.
