Breidarlon Iceberg Lagoon

Breiðárlón is a glacier lagoon in south Iceland, on the edge of the Vatnajökull ice cap and only minutes from its famous neighbour Jökulsárlón. The same glacier, Breiðamerkurjökull, feeds both. What sets it apart is quiet: no ring-road car park and no boat tours, so getting there means a rough gravel track or a hike along the marked trail between the lagoons. The icebergs are smaller and can be sparse as the glacier retreats, but you often have the water, ice and mountains to yourself.
