Hnausapollur Crater

Hnausapollur is a crater known for its alien landscapes. The deep, still blue water contrasts with steep inner walls in red, black, and patches of bright green moss. The scale of the crater is enormous, and the edge offers panoramic views of endless black highland deserts and distant glaciers. Its secondary name, Blahylur, means "Blue Abyss" and perfectly describes the water color on a sunny day. Despite its dramatic appearance, the crater is easily accessible from the F208 road leading to Landmannalaugar.
