Raudibotn Crater
About the place
Raudibotn is a crater in the Eldgja volcanic system and part of a vast Icelandic Highlands landscape. The crater offers extreme color contrasts with red slopes, green moss, black lava fields, and glacial rivers. The Holmsa river flows through the crater, forming cascades and waterfalls. Raudibotn is a paradise for photographers due to the vivid colors and dramatic landscapes. Access is possible only by a prepared 4x4 vehicle due to rough highland roads and river crossings.
