Frostastadavatn Scenic Viewpoint is located on the northern shore of Frostastadavatn lake. The lake sits in a crater, and its deep blue waters contrast with black lava flows and colorful rhyolite slopes. The water reflects the surrounding peaks, creating a mirror-like surface. The barren landscape and absence of vegetation give a sense of pristine calm. This viewpoint is the gateway to Landmannalaugar and showcases the region’s multicolored geology.
