Lake Ibon Azul Inferior

About the place
Lake Ibon Azul Inferior is a high-altitude glacial basin tucked into a rugged rocky bowl of the Aragonese Pyrenees. The highlight of the location is its deep blue water, which contrasts sharply with the light granite of the surrounding peaks. The lake serves as a natural terrace, offering views of the path leading to the Upper Lake and the glaciers of the Infiernos massif. Snowfields often linger on its shores even in mid-summer, emphasizing the harsh alpine character of the terrain. It is a popular resting spot for mountaineers before the final ascent toward the high mountain passes along the GR11 route.
