Ninho da Manta Viewpoint
About the place
The Ninho da Manta viewpoint is located just a few meters from the start of the Vereda do Areeiro hiking trail on Madeira Island. From here, you can admire breathtaking views of the island’s central mountain range. The name “Ninho da Manta” means “buzzard’s nest” — this area once served as a habitat for the bird. It’s an ideal spot for photos and a short walk; even without hiking to the summit, you can fully enjoy the scenery.
