Skardsviti Lighthouse

Skardsviti sits at the northern point of the Vatnsnes peninsula in northwest Iceland, a stubby orange tower first lit around 1950 to guide ships across Húnaflói bay. It reads more as a marker on the drive than a stop in itself. Private farmland and fences block the way to the base, so visitors shoot it from the gravel road, framed by open sea and, when the sky clears, snow-topped peaks on the far shore. Seals often rest on the rocks below.
