Svortuloft Lighthouse

Skálasnagaviti — better known by its sea name, Svörtuloft — is a slender bright-orange lighthouse on the black basalt cliffs at the western tip of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, inside Snæfellsjökull National Park. The current concrete tower dates from 1931, built to replace the 1914 iron structure lost to coastal erosion. A short walk from the car park reaches the cliff edge, where seabirds crowd the ledges in summer.
