Valahnukamol Coast

About the place
At the south-western tip of the Reykjanes peninsula, Atlantic storms have heaped a rampart of huge rounded boulders between the Valahnúkur cliff and the sea. Iceland's first lighthouse rose beside the cliff in 1878, and its successor still blinks nearby. Offshore, on the horizon, stands the sheer island of Eldey, home to one of the world's largest northern gannet colonies.
