Vatnsdalsholar View Point is located at the mouth of Vatnsdalur Valley, overlooking countless small hills. These hills are considered one of Iceland’s three “infinite” wonders. The unusual terrain likely formed from a massive landslide from Vatnsdalsfjall thousands of years ago. The viewpoint offers a full perspective on this strange and seemingly artificial landscape. A memorial nearby marks the site of Iceland’s last execution in 1830, combining geology with history.
