The Vereda da Encumeada Trail (PR1.3) is a mountain route about 11 km long on Madeira Island, starting near Pico Ruivo and leading to the Encumeada pass. The trail passes through the central mountain range and Laurissilva forest, offering panoramas of volcanic cliffs, valleys, and the cloud layer. The difficulty level is moderate, with significant elevation changes (from ~1,800 m to ~1,000 m) and narrow sections, so good preparation and caution are recommended.
