Budararfoss Waterfall

About the place
Búðarárfoss drops through a green canyon on the slope directly above Reyðarfjörður, a short climb from the middle of the East Iceland fjord town yet little known beyond it. The Búðará river, swelling with rain and snowmelt, gathers into a single clean fall and lands in a shallow pool ringed with rock and moss. A scramble over rocks reaches the foot of the falls, where on a sunny day the spray throws a rainbow. A small dam above the lip feeds the town's power station.
