Folaldafoss Waterfall

About the place
Folaldafoss stands just off the Öxi pass road in East Iceland — the steep gravel route that cuts between Berufjörður and the inland valleys. Most falls in the region demand a rough drive or a long hike; this one does not. Park in the small pull-off, follow a level gravel path for a few minutes, and a wide cascade drops into a green pool in front of you. The payoff is the ease of it. The one condition is the pass itself: unpaved, steep, and shut through winter.
