Gljúfrasteinn — Laxness Museum

About the place
Halldór Laxness won the 1955 Nobel Prize in Literature and lived at Gljúfrasteinn in Mosfellsdalur for decades. The house has been kept as he left it: his books, paintings and furniture are still in place. A short film introduces the writer, then an audio guide leads visitors room by room. Many arrive never having read a word of his and leave with novels bought on the spot.
