Krysuvurberg Cliffs

Krýsuvíkurberg is a dark wall of basalt sea cliffs running some 15 kilometres along the south coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula, up to about 40 metres high. In summer the ledges hold tens of thousands of nesting seabirds — fulmars, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes over the surf — though despite the reputation only a few puffins. One rough gravel track keeps the tour buses away, so most days you share the clifftop with little more than the wind and the birds.
