Krysuvurberg Cliffs

Krysuvurberg Cliffs

About the place

Krysuvurberg Cliffs are an extensive basalt cliff formation along the southern coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula. The cliffs host large seabird colonies, including gulls, puffins, and guillemots. Rising up to fifty meters, they form a dramatic barrier between lava fields and the Atlantic Ocean. The route to the cliffs passes through rugged landscapes with black volcanic rock meeting the deep blue sea. The combination of crashing waves and bird colonies creates a striking natural experience away from popular tourist paths.
