National Museum of Iceland
About the place
Iceland's national museum sits by Tjörnin in central Reykjavík and tells the country's story on two floors, from the Norse settlers of around 874 to the present. Its displays run from settlement-age silver hoards to folk costumes and religious art. Founded in 1863, it fits into an hour but rewards two or three.
