About the place

Þúfa is a sculpture shaped like a hill. The artist Ólöf Nordal raised this eight-metre grass mound in 2013 at Grandi's working harbour, a commission from the fish company next door, and wound a single stone path up it in a slow spiral. At the top stands a hjallur, the open wooden shed where fish are wind-dried into harðfiskur. The climb takes two minutes and ends with a wide view over the bay to the mountains.
