Lava Show
About the place
Lava Show is the only place in the world that recreates a volcanic eruption indoors. In a small theatre, staff heat real Icelandic basalt in a furnace until it glows, then tip molten lava, well over 1,000 °C, down a chute in front of the audience. A wave of heat pushes you back in your seat. The Classic show runs under an hour. The Reykjavík branch is in the Grandi harbour district; the original is in Vík on the south coast.
