Reykjavík Maritime Museum

Set in an old fish-freezing plant on Grandi pier, the museum traces how a nation of fishermen made a living from a hard sea. The exhibitions run from the first settlers to the late twentieth century — open rowing boats, real gear, the trawler fleet that built modern Iceland. The star exhibit floats at the quay: Óðinn, a coast-guard ship that faced down British frigates in the Cod Wars. Visitors can go aboard.
