Unknown Bureaucrat sculpture is a contemporary sculpture created in Reykjavik in 1994 by Magnus Tomasson. It represents a bureaucratic figure whose head and upper body are replaced by a raw basalt block. The basalt symbolizes the weight of routine and the faceless nature of administrative systems. The sculpture is placed near Lake Tjornin, integrating naturally into the surrounding landscape. The stone base echoes coastal boulder fields and contrasts with the calm water surface.
