Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús
About the place
The contemporary branch of Reykjavík Art Museum fills a concrete warehouse built in the 1930s to serve the harbour and turned into galleries in 2000. Two floors of tall, plain rooms carry rotating exhibitions by Icelandic and international artists, established and emerging. One space holds the Erró Collection: some 2,000 collage-like paintings the pop artist gave his home city. The same ticket gets you into the museum's two other buildings.
