Sky Lagoon

Sky Lagoon

About the place

Sky Lagoon is a geothermal spa built into the shore at Kársnes in Kópavogur, minutes from central Reykjavík, where a roughly 70-metre infinity edge drops the water straight into the North Atlantic. The turf-roofed buildings echo old Icelandic farmhouses, and the design is built around the view: you sit in warm water facing the open sea, and on a clear winter night the aurora appears over the water. Its signature is the seven-step Skjól ritual, a warm-and-cold circuit that ends looking back at the horizon.
