Njardvik Cliffs

Njardvik Cliffs

About the place

Njardvik Cliffs are steep coastal slopes along the eastern coast of Iceland. For centuries, this narrow path was dangerous, squeezed between sheer cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. Local legend speaks of a monster named Naddi that haunted travelers at night. A stone cross, Naddakross, stands on the roadside, originally placed in 1306 to protect passersby. The cliffs offer breathtaking views, with crashing waves below and a rugged, almost vertical wall of rock above, making it a thrilling stop for hikers and photographers.
