Oxararfoss Waterfall
About the place
Oxararfoss Waterfall flows over a basalt cliff formed by tectonic rifts. The water drops into a rocky pool within the Almannagja gorge. This area marks the boundary between the Eurasian and North American plates. The waterfall has long been a natural landmark of the historic assembly site. It is a common stop on classic Golden Circle routes.
