Sigoldufoss Waterfall

Sigöldufoss is a highland waterfall where the Tungnaá drops off a lava shelf into a small canyon in Iceland's interior. The pool below holds an intense, milky turquoise that sets it apart from the country's darker falls. It sits just off the F208, a rough mountain road past the Sigalda power station and on the same track as the Sigöldugljúfur canyon. A short path from a gravel pull-off leads down to the water, but everything up here is remote and open only through the brief highland summer.
