Trolladyngja Shield Volcano

Trolladyngja is a broad shield volcano located on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Its slopes are colored by minerals in shades of red and yellow, contrasting with surrounding black lava fields. The volcano formed from multiple layers of flowing lava over a long period. Hiking trails lead across rough lava terrain to the summit. From the top, visitors can see panoramic views of geothermal areas and the distant Atlantic Ocean.
