Fosstorfufoss Waterfall

Fosstorfufoss Waterfall

About the place

Fosstorfufoss is a broad waterfall on the Skógá river above Skógafoss, on Iceland's south coast. You reach it only on foot, along the Waterfall Way that opens the Fimmvörðuháls trek. From the top of the Skógafoss staircase the path follows the river upstream past a chain of falls; Fosstorfufoss is the second, dropping cleanly where the river bends. Most people stop at Skógafoss, so the trail beyond stays quiet.
