Kvernufoss Waterfall

About the place
The waterfall is fed by a small river flowing from the Eyjafjallajokull area. A short trail leads into the gorge and allows visitors to walk behind the falling water. The rock walls show clear layers of volcanic origin shaped by erosion. Kvernufoss is often visited together with the nearby Skogafoss waterfall.
