Gljufurarfoss Waterfall

Gljufurarfoss Waterfall

About the place

Gljúfurárfoss is a wide, tiered waterfall in Iceland's Westfjords, dropping right beside the region's main road. Its broad lower curtain is visible from the small car park, while smaller cascades step up the hillside above, reached by a short, rough path. Rarely signposted and usually deserted, it is an easy, free stop, with wildflowers along the river in summer.
