Sandafell Mountain

About the place
Sandafell rises 362 m directly above Þingeyri in Dýrafjörður, in the Westfjords. From its flat, west-facing top a view-dial names the surrounding peaks while the fjord runs west toward the open sea — one of the widest, easiest views in the region. You can walk up in about 30–45 minutes, or drive most of the way with a proper 4x4. Entry is free, the top is a fine sunset spot, and there are no facilities beyond the village below.
