Glymur Waterfall

For most of the last century Glymur was called Iceland's tallest waterfall. It now ranks second, after Morsárfoss was measured in the far south, but 198 m of the Botnsá still pour off the cliffs into a narrow, moss-green gorge at the inner end of Hvalfjörður, in west Iceland. There is no roadside overlook. The falls sit deep in the canyon and are reached only by a steep hiking loop that crosses the river on a log and threads a short cave passage.
