Hafragilsfoss Waterfall

Hafragilsfoss Waterfall is one of the major waterfalls of the Jokulsa a Fjollum river system. The water flows powerfully between steep basalt cliffs shaped by ancient lava flows. The canyon reveals clear layers of volcanic rock along its walls. Several viewpoints allow visitors to observe the waterfall from different angles. The site illustrates the raw fluvial and volcanic forces of North Iceland.
