Hafragilsfoss Waterfall

Hafragilsfoss sits on the glacial river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, just downstream of the far larger Dettifoss, and drops about 27 metres into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. Dettifoss wins on sheer volume; Hafragilsfoss wins on setting — colour-banded canyon walls, a broad churning basin and a fraction of the crowd. It lies within Vatnajökull National Park, and the hilltop viewpoint above the falls takes in the whole gorge at once.
