Hallormsstadur Forest

Hallormsstadur Forest is the largest national forest in Iceland, located by Lake Lagarflot. It covers more than 700 hectares, making it a treasured natural area. Many trails lead through dense birch groves and areas with rare conifers. The edges of Hallormsstadur Forest reveal scenic coastal boulder fields. Winding paths open views of the lake waters, where local legends say a giant serpent lives.
