Huldufoss Waterfall

Huldufoss Waterfall

About the place

Huldufoss — the 'hidden waterfall' — is a pair of falls in the Fjallabak highlands of southern Iceland. A little-walked path rolls through moss, old lava and streams before the water appears, dropping in a narrow stream over dark volcanic rock, with a second fall further along. It sits well off the main routes in wide, treeless highland, and reaching it takes a summer-only 4x4 track and a proper hike on foot.
