Hveravellir Hot Springs

Hveravellir Hot Springs is located on a highland plateau between the Langjokull and Hofsjokull glaciers. The geothermal field features numerous boiling springs, steaming fumaroles, and vividly colored mineral deposits. Notable features include the Blue Spring known as Blahver and the Roaring Mound called Oskurholl, which emits whistling steam sounds. The main attraction is a small natural hot pool that allows visitors to bathe outdoors in a dramatic volcanic setting. Surrounded by lava fields and distant glaciers, Hveravellir feels like a protected geothermal sanctuary in the Highlands.
