Kolugljufur Canyon

Kolugljufur Canyon stretches along the course of the Víðidalsá River, cutting through layers of volcanic rock. Its narrow, steep-sided form creates a dramatic landscape shaped by constant water erosion. A series of waterfalls drops into the gorge, filling it with mist and echoing sound. Several viewpoints allow safe observation from different angles, though caution near the edge is advised. The canyon is named after Kola, a giantess from local folklore, adding cultural depth to the site.
